A lively exhibition featuring photos, toys, engaging artifacts and DVDs.

The 5 locations for the Gasoline Valley exhibition join with the Museums’ other 10 locations of the Smithers Culture Crawl which include exhibitions spotlighting the Swiss and the Dutch migrations to the Valley located in a café and a furniture store.  Other sites include the café area in a supermarket which hosts an exhibition on the development of recreational skiing in the Valley by Scandinavian immigrants, 1930-1950.  Other sites in the Crawl include the Old Church Gardens and historic kit homes from the 1920s and 30s which were shipped to Smithers via the railroad.

The Gasoline Valley exhibition, curated by Fergus Tomlin, also has a contribution by Andrew Minigan, curator of the Heritage Park Museum, Terrace.  Fergus also supplied a segment of Gasoline Valley to the Hazelton Public Library and Museum. In addition, Doug Boersema, president of the Telkwa Museum, curated a Telkwa village chapter of Gasoline Valley for display this summer.

The Bulkley Valley is blossoming with cultural and historical hotspots in some of the most unlikely locations you can imagine.

Visit the Bulkley Valley Museum and discover the wealth of historical “A-HAs” which Gasoline Valley and the Smithers Culture Crawl have to offer.
